Review:

Women Who Code had coding networks in two of the major cities in Canada so that female tech talent in Canada could meet up, share their knowledge, and take part in events.

While employers had a choice of several posting plans to suit their business needs, the platform was somewhat costlier than the Society for Canadian Women in Science & Technology (SCWIST). However, unlike SCWIST, which catered only to the Canadian market, Women Who Code gave employers access to a global talent pool of female tech professionals.

Pros:

  • Women Who Code had a membership of more than 290,000 tech professionals.
  • The Social Boost feature increased the reach of job posts by promoting them in the weekly member newsletter and on X.
  • Employers could choose from three monthly subscription plans or request a customized solution.
  • The platform offered applicant tracking tools and analytics data on job posts.
  • Purchased job credits didn't expire.
  • Women Who Code Vancouver and Toronto pages offered blog posts, resources, and job posts for a Canadian workforce.

Cons:

  • There was no free posting option or trial period.
  • Pricing was not provided in Canadian dollars.
  • The platform was not available in French.

Women Who Code vs. ChangeMaker Collective Jobs:

Like ChangeMaker Collective Jobs, Women Who Code was a niche job board for female tech professionals. When it came to additional resources, Women Who Code focused on helping women advance in their careers, while ChangeMaker Collective offers employers coaching to improve their branding and work environment.

Women Who Code vs. Women's Job List:

Like Women Who Code did, Women's Job List caters to female professionals specifically. However, Women's Job List is a general recruitment site for the U.S. and Canada, while Women Who Code was a global job board for the tech industry. Women's Job List offers a greater range of pricing plans than Women Who Code did, but has a higher starting price.

Women Who Code vs. SCWIST Job Board:

Women Who Code and SCWIST catered to female professionals in tech, but SCWIST also caters to the science, engineering, and math industries. SCWIST's website includes minimal information about their job board, making it difficult to compare the two sites. Interested users should contact SCWIST to determine whether it would suit their needs.
