Review:

EcoFarm Jobs helped employers fill their agricultural, environmental, education, research, and volunteer roles throughout the U.S. While it was not nearly as feature-rich as its competitors, the job board offered a free job posting service for companies on a tight budget.

The organization EcoFarm is still operational and gives the national farming community access to ecological conferences, an online archive of farming content and research, and the latest news on sustainability in agriculture.

  • It was completely free to post a vacancy on EcoFarm Jobs.

  • Listings were sent to EcoFarm's subscribers via email alerts.
  • The website was available in English and Spanish and afforded employers access to bilingual talent.
  • Companies could post full-time and part-time positions at any career level, as well as internships.

Cons:

  • The job board was rather basic and offered no additional hiring solutions, such as job distribution or employer branding.

  • Listings weren't shared to EcoFarm's social media channels.

EcoFarm Jobs vs. Farm and Ranch Jobs:

Like Farm and Ranch Jobs, EcoFarm Jobs catered to the agricultural industry and offered free job posts. However, Farm and Ranch Jobs is more feature-rich with social media promotion and promoted listings. Farm and Ranch Jobs also has a much larger reach than EcoFarm Jobs, affording employers greater exposure.

EcoFarm Jobs vs. AgCareers.com:

Like AgCareers.com EcoFarm Jobs advertised a variety agriculture roles. However, EcoFarm Jobs was the budget-friendly option with free job posts, while AgCareers.com's pricing starts at $375.00 per job post. While costlier, AgCareers.com offers resume searches and social media promotion, which EcoFarm lacked.

EcoFarm Jobs vs. Indeed:

Indeed is a general job board with both a local and international presence. In comparison, EcoFarm primarily listed agriculture vacancies and catered only to the U.S. market, which offered employers a targeted approach to hiring talent. Of the two platforms, only Indeed features paid posting options starting at $5.00 per day.
