Petroleum Engineers play a key role in the extraction and production of oil and gas from underground petroleum reservoirs. They evaluate and monitor the geological formation of petroleum reservoirs, extract the oil and gas in the most cost-effective, safe way, monitor the equipment and tools, and oversee the removal of the equipment and the sealing of exhausted reservoirs.

When interviewing Petroleum Engineers, look for candidates who demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the chemistry, mathematics, engineering, and geology principles necessary to the field. Take note of candidates who lack strong analytical, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills.
